This month, Dinosaur Designs’ Creative Directors Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy launch a new colour capsule collection, Forest. The collection explores the balance between architecture and nature, played out in an alluring palette of forest green, snow, black and accents of silver.

Organic curves and geometric shapes create strong silhouettes in the Forest homewares, with four new vase shapes that represent the grandeur of tree trunks. Bowls, platters, dishes and servers have been elevated in striking new art-range castings that illustrate the relationship between light and darkness found in nature.

Louise Olsen explains the inspiration that drove these larger scale homewares pieces: “I wanted to introduce vase shapes to house and hold larger, architectural branches and specimens”.

The jewellery range is a nod towards more organic shapes, representing the smaller flora found on forest floors. Silver accents have been incorporated into this new palette to accentuate the swirl of resin castings. Earrings and necklaces curve softly, alongside classic bangle styles produced in silver, which can be stacked or worn as single statement pieces.

Forest was photographed by Sydney-based interiors and fashion photographer Felix Forest, who played with natural light to produce a refined story showcasing the collection’s arresting colour-ways and elegant shapes.

Forest is now available at The Strand Melbourne boutique.
